Our Instructor Training curriculum encompasses 500 hours of in-depth training with industry-leading instructors to prepare licensed professionals for the state licensing examination as an instructor.

Upon graduation and licensing, you will be qualified to teach cosmetology or esthetics full-time or part-time in a licensed school.

Our Training Instructors

Armand: Education Leader

As the team leader for the Institute's Cosmetology program, Armand oversees both the Institute's Cosmetology team and future professionals, facilitates the programs and curriculum, and advances the program to keep it fresh and current. A veteran of nearly two decades in the hair industry, Armand has worked with Paul Brown in Hawaii, including doing photo shoots and "a lot of print work" with him. After moving to Seattle, he worked with Gene Juarez, first as a trainer for his salons and then as Artistic Director for his academies.

"I think life is about learning and continuing to learn," Armand says. Artistry, fashion, and education have brought him where he is today. "Bringing those three together, helping and inspiring people to grow, is where I want to be and what I want to achieve, in everything I do. I believe in investing in people and giving them a chance to invest in you, your company, and your ideas," he continues. "I believe in learning from others, being aware of their ideas as much as sharing my ideas and letting them know how I feel. I want to bring to the Institute's students that experience of meeting people in our industry, getting something out of it, and learning from everybody."

"I just love being here," Armand says of Seattle. "Coming from Hawaii, it's amazing to me that I can love another place as much. It inspires me to be here, and I think it's a very artistic place and a place full of potential for growth."

Armand is available Tuesday through Saturday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
