Elizabeth Whiteford: Institute Leader
With years of ongoing commitment to education
and training, including working as the education manager for
Aveda Services, Inc., what excites Elizabeth Whiteford most
about working at Gary Manuel Aveda Institute, she says, is
"being able to facilitate and watch people blossom into
spectacular individuals in an industry that I think is really
important. This industry provides a really fun, up-close,
and personal way to effect somebody's life," she says.
"I think it's really vital to who we are as people and
who we are as a community. These are all things that Gary
Manuel and Aveda are deeply committed to."
"The people that come to study with
us want a transformational, fun, informational experience,"
Elizabeth says. "They don't just want to go to school."
Because of this, she is very excited about working with future
professionals at the Institute. "So much happens behind
the scenes to make a magical moment for somebody. When people
leave with gorgeous hair color or a great haircut, when they're
transformed into somebody that they've always wanted to be,
it's amazing. Just knowing that we're creating a whole network
of people that love that and want to do that is an inspiration."
Elizabeth is also thrilled about the Institute's
Capitol Hill location. "This is a wonderful neighborhood!
There is a real sense of community. Everybody walks, they've
got great clothes, great hair, and they just want to have
fun. For those reasons, I think it's really an ideal location
for us."
