Voted “Most News Worthy Hair Designer” by consumer and trade press editors and noted as one of the top 75 educators of the century, Eric Fisher made his way to The Gary Manuel Aveda Institute August 22 presenting to Future Professionals and Gary Manuel Salon during his two day stay. Fisher, who is quoted in all of the major beauty publications including Vogue, Elle, Allure, Lucky, Self, Glamour, Good Housekeeping, Redbook, and many more, is the owner of Eric Fisher Salon, recently voted one of 200 Fastest Growing Salons in America. Along with Gary Manuel Salon he too won the Global Business Award in London in 2004. He won again in 2006.

Eric presented to inspired audiences of future and current professionals with a hair cutting demonstration and an overview discussion of his varying success strategies. GMAI future professionals spent the morning with Eric and were able to visit with him following his presentation. Everyone at GMAI sends out a huge thanks to Eric Fisher for his generosity and inspiration.

In the beginning the GMAI Leadership Team was set on a goal of 10K for the 2006 AIDS WALK supporting the Lifelong Aids Alliance on September 9th. Now, with help from teams on all fronts they not only met their goal, they surpassed it by nearly one thousand dollars. The idea to produce a talent show to raise funds finished successfully. In fact, it worked so well that they ended up raising nearly $1000 in ticket sales and a bake sale before the show.

Future Professionals at the evening charity event held Tuesday August 29th not only raised awareness and funds but surprised guests with performances by talented individuals for a showing of over 100 guests who roared, cheered and had a great time. The one and a half hour show included dancers, singers and the master puppetry work of Las Vegas headliner Barry Conyers. There was even a surprise appearance by local singer Bernadette Bascom who sang with our own local singer/Future Professional Roman Wadsworth.
